We chose to start this process with this '72 Red Roadster because it already had a healthy '93 Fuel Injected 5.0 liter Mustang engine (our choice for the prototype Legend build, but not our first Legend client's choice) factory power steering with late model pump & 4 wheel power disc brakes... a great platform for us to work with! After the initial purchase, we did a high pressure wash & complete service inspection, and made a list of everything it was going to need to the best of our ability.

This truck came to us as a Roadster, so after removing the door inserts, roll cage and pre-runner bumpers, we installed a set of factory hard doors with new smoked removable door hinges, plus a new Rocky Roads Cowl Induction fiberglass hood, new black Auto Fab hood pin sets & new hood shocks. Then, the more difficult work started.

This Bronco already had a very healthy engine & rebuilt C-4 automatic transmission, so we changed the floor shifter over to a billet tilt column shifter, and that took care of that. It already had enough power now to burn rubber in first gear. Since we cleaned up & tuned the engine even more, added a new alternator & a TON of new parts in the engine bay, now it runs even harder and gets over 15MPG average. We also added a new Optima Red top 800 battery with new marine grade battery cables and billet battery tray for added electrical reliability. We cleaned up the valve covers, repainted & resealed the intake manifold, added new radiator overflow bottle & factory wiper reservoir, a nicer aluminum radiator, and restored the entire engine bay.

All new exterior parts have been Smoked (powder coated black) & installed. A new BC Broncos Vintage A/C system has been installed with aluminum defrost duct, and custom circular vents have been sunk into the custom Legend dash with billet dash bezel, plus smoked Proline louvers for defrost, and a set of roll cage braces to keep the windshield it's proper distance from the window frames of the hard doors. A new Tuffy locking glove box, restored factory odometer, light bulbs & gauges were also added, plus a new Autometer 3 3/4" tachometer has also been integrated into the dash. We performed a partial under dash re-wire, and installed new super bright headlights with relays, new dimmer, hi-beam & wiper switches.

We just did a complete $7500.00 body & paint job in a Charcoal Matte finish, which came out extremely nice. Then, we installed a stainless steel hardware kit & firewall insulation kit, and a list of brand new 'smoked' body trim parts including: new aluminum body trim, outer door handles, billet tail light bezels, locking tailgate latch, side marker lens bezels, billet headlamp covers, blacked out chrome mirrors, billet window cranks, new inner door handles, new door & ignition lock sets, a new window anti-rattle kit in both doors and new door upper & lower seals. A new chrome factory Bronco antenna was also added, along with deluxe drivers side air vent with door, and passenger side new air box.

Then, we installed a new Wild Horses 2.5" suspension lift. Next, we installed a set of new Rancho 9000 nine-way adjustable shocks & a one inch body lift. We also installed a new set of Fuel 17x9 wheels & 305/70R17 Pro-Comp tires & a new set of Warn premium hubs on the Dana 44 front axle. A complete black out and under-coating job was performed to make the bottom look as clean as the rest of this truck. A new exhaust system with dual Flowmasters has also been installed. For fuel supply, we gave it a new 20 gallon fuel tank with new hard & soft fuel lines where needed.

It just received a new RR Legend Powder coated front bumper, Warn 12K lb winch, smoked billet fair lead, 2" LED lighting, a powder coated Proto-Fab Rock Solid rear bumper with swing-out tire carrier & matching spare. It also just got new black high back Pro Car Elite front seats on new tracks with fabric seat inserts, new retractable shoulder belts, new matching fold & tumble rear seat, a new Tuffy locking center console, new black pleaded RR door, rear side & tailgate paneling, new custom RR floor carpet mats, a new Le Carra steering wheel, powerful air horns, powder coated Legend family roll cage with new black custom padding & wrapping to nicely finish off the interior.

A custom Alpine top-of-the-line CD sound system was just added with dual Alpine PDX amplifiers, a dual amp balancer, 10" Alpine sub woofer, Tuffy locking rear console with custom built woofer box which houses a Alpine 10" sub woofer inside, plus 4 Alpine component speakers in the doors & a set of Alpine 6x9 speakers flush mounted into the rear side panels... this is the best sounding sound system we've ever installed in a Bronco! A new black fabric soft top with tinted windows & full extended bikini top included, the soft top has been installed for Winter delivery. We also changed out the stock steering system to a 'Bullet Proof' system, and added an adjustable track bar & track bar raiser bracket from Wild Horses... it steers real nice!

Recent additional work includes: New downward facing exhaust tips just installed, dual 12V charging ports under dash, new Hydro Boost brake system for enhanced braking, and recently Dyno-Tuned engine with new O2 & cooling sensors for maximum performance, fusible links added to all engine wiring. After all of this additional work, this truck is as good as we can get it without doing a frame-off.

When you look at how far this truck has come in the 'relatively short' period of time it took us to restore it, it was quite a remarkable feat.
