SOON... The new Rocky Roads 'Legend' will be born from this GEM in June of 2012
This Very Rare Original Paint '71 Bronco with cut fenders & black flares and a very healthy driveline came in handy so we do not have to go through the entire drive line in order to achieve our goal of rivaling ICON 4x4's new Bronco suspension system, which was unvailed in October of 2011. This vehicle is going through a major suspension transformation at the current time. Upon completion, it will have 12" front and rear COIL-OVER suspension. More photos and details coming soon.
It already has a very healthy crate 351 Windsor engine with lots of upgrades including an aluminum radiator, blaster 2 coil, chrome air filter, headers, dual exhaust system. The transmission is a NV 4500 5 SPEED, with an upgraded power steering system. new 15x10 aluminum wheels, 31x10.50x15 BFG All Terrain tires. It has a Dana 44 front axle, a straight handle transfer case (most desirable) and a Ford 9" drum brake rear axle.
It has stock front & rear seats (fronts restored already in gray) rear seat is unrestored. It has a mild body lift (necessary for installing the 5 speed transmission) but other than that, it is completely stock suspension wise. The electrical system has been nicely done, with Autometer gauges replacing the 'stock' gauges throughout the dash. The work has been done right, and everything works as it should.
Nice Proto-Fab rear bumper with swing out tire carrier, chrome front bumper. Stock hood with fiberglass hood scoop & hood struts installed. Doors open and close very nicely, windows roll up and down effortlessly (which some people take for granted) 'Larger than stock' chrome door mirrors for better visibility. It has a chrome air cleaner and a useful tool console under the hood. Engine bay has been carefully prepped and sprayed with gray crinkle paint, and looks really nice. A lot of effort went into restoring this engine bay.
This Bronco will receive new 4 wheel disc brakes and a hydro-boost brake system. It has a properly mounted 6 point Smittybilt full roll cage, which may soon be padded and wrapped. It has diamond plating throughout the interior, a Tuffy locking center console, plus a lot of sound-proofing material inside the cab. It comes with 3 fuel tanks, plus 3 tops, a restored Hard top, newer black canvas soft top, and a black bikini top, plus a 12 gallon main tank, a 11 gallon side tank, and a 10 gallon saddle tank.
Keep watching the progress of this one.
